Make Way For Grey
Written by: Amanda Cristina
As the seasons begin to change so do the trends and colours of fashion. Get ready to say farewell to those of fall and make way for winters muted palette of neutrals. One of the most popular colours spotted on the runway was a soft shade of grey.
Designers such as Alexander Wang, Alexis Mabille, Antonio Berardi, and Chanel all showed their love for this chic colour during the fall/winter 2015 runway.
We also saw a lot of grey tones paired with cashmere hoods and plush fur as seen in Alexander Wang’s collection, keeping that cozy touch for the winter season.
Want more than grey? An odd but surprisingly fabulous combination of grey and camel-coloured coats were also spotted on the runway by Alexis Mabille and Chloe. This created a delightful combination of neutral colours and is great for any occasion.
If you want more of a conservative look, go for a ‘stormy’ colour rather than a light tone. Also aim for black accents. This combination was a favourite for designers Antonio Berardi and Chanel, producing gorgeous black and white wool blends.
If you want be more bold, try pairing your grey coat with a little shimmer. Metallic flare was a favourite combination for Helmut Lang this season. It adds the perfect amount of sparkle to take the outfit from daytime chic to night time glamour. This trending neutral coat cannot go wrong! You can easily go from work casual to dressed-to-impress. So go out and find your perfect grey coat this season and make sure to set it right beside that little black dress.
