The Superwomen We’d Like to See

The much-anticipated Wonder Woman movie should hit the silver screen in the next couple of years, which is great news for comic book nerds everywhere. But Wonder Woman isn’t the only female hero that deserves an adaptation of her own. Here are our suggestions:

1. Black Widow: It’s shocking that Hollywood hasn’t already jumped at this opportunity. A Black Widow film could potentially be very James Bond-esque, which would make for some very cool movies. Plus, we’d jump at any chance to watch Scarlett Johansson on the big screen.
2. Buffy: Two words: Joss Whedon. The film could even pick up where the television show ended. with the Slayer being tasked with training young Slayers now that she isn’t the only one shouldering the load.
3. Storm: One of Marvel’s most recognizable female superheroes deserves a movie that chronicles her early life and how her powers came to be. Plus, if Wolverine can have two sub-par movies, why can’t Storm have one?

Breaking Bad Facts

1. Aaron Paul’s character, Jesse Pinkman, was originally intended to be killed off at the end of Season 1. Luckily, due to the writer’s strike and the chemistry between Cranston and Paul, their relationship would carry on.
2. The blue methamphetamine featured on the show is actually rock candy and the actors do indeed smoke it (without inhaling).
3. Originally, both Sony and AMC wanted to cast John Cusack or Matthew Broderick for the role of Walter White. They were unsure of Bryan Cranston since he was known mostly for comedic roles. Luckily the two actors declined, paving the way for Cranston.
4. R.J. Mitte, the actor who portrays Walter White Jr., also has cerebral palsy in real life.
5. Bryan Cranston was considered for the role of Walter White after creator Vince Gilligan saw him on an episode of The X-Files, in which he played a villain whose head would explode if he drove less than 50 miles per hour.

Marijuana by Province: Who Partakes the Most?

Canada has quite the reputation for being a stoner-friendly country. More young people consume pot in Canada per capita than anywhere else in the world. But which provinces are to blame (or be commended) for this rap? A 2012 StatsCan survey found that Manitoba took the fifth spot with 11.5% of its over-15 residents partaking in the cannabis. Coming in fourth was Alberta with 11.8%, while Ontario cemented its third place rank with 12.1%. The runner-up was B.C., with 14.2% and the #1 spot, rather surprisingly, went to Nova Scotia, who clocked in with an impressive 14.8% (or 115,285 people).
