Outkast’s Strange Coachella Reunion
Coachella happened as usual this year with such acts as Beck, Broken Bells, Pharrell Williams and Skrillex making appearances to excite fans. One of the most anticipated acts this year was the reunion of Andre 3000 and Big Boi, coming together after 10 years to show off their lyrical talents and provide those with tickets a blast from the past as they rapped some of their best known Outkast songs.
Apparently, not everything went smoothly for the duo. Their track list, comprised of 28 songs, was cut short, and some in attendance complained of tech issues as well as an odd and shaky performance.
On Twitter, Craig Jenkins said that they should have, “Carved out them solo sets, fixed the tech issues, tighten up the setlist, and everybody can get theirs. But as is, that shit was low key messy.”
With Outkast set to perform a number of shows this upcoming year, the Coachella performance seemed to have signalled to most that the musical duo needs to work and work hard at retooling their performances, something they should have done before headlining the major music fest.
