Ford Nation: “We’re Solid!”

With news that Olivia Chow has resigned her seat in Parliament in order to focus her efforts on running for mayor of Toronto, current mayor Rob Ford commented that “it’s the best news I’ve heard all day.”

Ford has put a great deal of effort into inspecting rental buildings across Toronto, and now Chow has also indicated that she will be focusing on blue collar voters, drawing on her personal journey growing up in Toronto as the daughter of immigrant parents.

Chow will officially announce her mayoral candidacy at St. Simon-the-Apostate Church in Toronto at 11 a.m. Thursday.

According to the most recent polls, Ford and Chow are tied for the lead. Chow and her campaign team have specified that they do not wish to run a campaign that aims to attack the mayor and his recent scandal, relying instead on those facts already being available to the public.

With Chow in the race it could be an interesting mayoral campaign.
