Olivia Chow Still a Force to be Reckoned With
There were rumours circulating that Prime Minister Stephen Harper had offered Olivia Chow the position of Ontario’s Lieutenant-Governor. However, a recent tweet Monday morning squashed the rumour, with Chow insisting “the reports of an LG offer are completely false.”
The rumour was generated by The Agenda’s Steve Paikin, and had it been true, would have definitely simplified Rob Ford’s efforts to be re-elected.
Ford’s mayoral opponents have yet to place their cards on the table, with both Chow and John Tory still absent from the race. However, this is no cause for concern since often times candidates hold off on entering the 10-month campaign for Toronto’s mayorship in order to save months of expenses.
At the moment the only two individuals who have officially registered are David Soknacki and the one and only Ford.
