Canada’s fashion industry can be a fickle place, underfunded and under-supported for designers. Every once in awhile, however, leaders emerge, offering something unique to the market.Frank & Oak is one of those brands. Starting off as an e-commerce platform shilling $50 (or less) shirts, the companyhas evolved into a full-grown lifestyle brand with two brick-and-mortar locations and six pop-up shops to fully serve the needs of its loyal followers. Frank & Oak’sstrength is not so much in its product – decent quality men’s clothing for the style-conscious crowd – but rather in its ability to cultivate a corporate culture that male consumers can relate to. Timing is everything, and in a society where men are increasingly showing an interest in fashion, they’ve arrived at an opportune moment.
